This year at MCC we are declaring Open House. This is more than a sermon series, it’s a culture... a way of living. Jesus said, “Keep open house, be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.” - Matthew 5:14, The Message.
Let’s be honest though. We aren’t always comfortable in our own skin, let alone allowing someone else to really see what’s inside… What if others notice the cracks, the wrinkles, the not so attractive parts of our lives, our church family? Then what?
This weekend we address the “what ifs” by looking deep inside our own hearts and the heart of our family at MCC. In the weeks ahead we are encouraging everyone to bring a friend, family member, co-worker, fellow student as we open up our lives and church in a very real and transparent way that will reveal the heart of a generous Father who has brought us into His very own family. This open house culture goes beyond our time together on the weekends, it will permeate every aspect of our life.
There is no better way to begin the New Year by making a commitment to engage God and His Church. We promise you that we are ready to open up our lives and church family to you. You won’t be disappointed. In fact, I assure you that this will be an experience different from any other ‘church’ experience you’ve had in the past.
I look forward to sharing more with you at Open House!
