Having never traveled abroad, I have met only one person who had not heard of Jesus Christ. I've met many who had been shown Jesus through an encounter they had with a church goer. Some saw the real Jesus, but many walked away resentful or disillusioned. Lately, I have met an increasing number of individuals who know Him. They know Jesus is at work in and around their lives every day. They know He invites us into relationship with Himself, and so they have begun making adjustments to bring their life into obedience with His teachings and commands. I've seen them, in moments of crises, choose Him over turning back to their life before Christ and discover truths about Jesus first hand. Like Job, they can now say "My ears had heard of you, but now my eyes have seen you" as they have experienced His faithfulness and the reality that He keeps His word. I'm seeing marriages changed, families transformed, finances come in order, and longevity in recovery from addiction. I'm seeing eternity grow in the hearts of individuals, then their families, and now their friends.
"Tell me and I'll forget. Show me and I may remember. Involve me, and I'll understand." This week, get involved. Come to know God as you obey Him and He accomplishes His purpose in you. We never can prove the delights of His love until all on the altar we lay.
Looking forward to worshiping with you this Saturday at 5:30 and Sunday at 10:30 at MCC!
